Green Armenia: Towards Sustainability in Culture is a cross-sectoral study examining sustainability practices and environmental engagement across Armenia’s cultural and creative sector. It maps existing approaches, identifies key challenges and opportunities, and proposes recommendations for more sustainable cultural development.
Focusing on independent initiatives alongside state cultural institutions, the research analyses how environmental themes and operational sustainability measures are currently embedded in cultural work, and how these efforts are supported (or limited) by policy and decision-making structures. Drawing on desk research, policy and legislative analysis, and expert views from cultural and environmental initiatives and institutions, the study offers actionable steps to strengthen coordination, capacity, and long-term sustainability within Armenia’s cultural sector.
